Narrator: Nearly paralyzed with fear, she inches closer to the open window. The cold, night air chills her skin. Closer… closer… hands trembling, she reaches for the window seal. She swallows hard and looks out. A shadow in the darkness; a gruesome disfigured hand reaches up and… and…

Woman: Ahhhhhhhh!

[Silence]

      1. Yes, it’s true! I’ve especially found that having to write a story with exactly 99 words really challenges you. The piece has to be natural, without unnecessary words and without missing words, with a very strict restraint. It’s like condensing the story down into an essential oil.
